Sheonagh Winterborne
  Chair Seater and Traditional Upholsterer

With a background in advanced furniture restoration and traditional upholstery, including many years' experience practising and tutoring seat weaving, I am able to provide a comprehensive and professional service to meet your individual re-upholstering, chairseating and furniture restoration requirements.

  • Chair Seating – not only re-caning and rush seating (with repair and polishing as necessary) but also covering the complete range of seating materials – seagrass, willow (including skeined willow, cords and straw (as in Orkney chairs)).
  • Upholstery/Re-upholstery – hand crafted using time-honoured methods and traditional materials.
  • Tuition – chair caning, rush seating and seagrass stool workshops. Also traditional upholstery.

My workshop is situated in North Lincolnshire (close to the River Trent) with convenient motorway access, being 5 miles from J2 of the M180. Visitors are most welcome, but please telephone before setting off. Alternatively, I am happy to arrange a personal visit to discuss your individual requirements. (Click here for contact details).
